Chenda Dorji

Chenda Dorji, the founder of Lonely Bhutan Tours and Trek is a senior tour and trekking guide who has been to all parts of the country seeking and exploring best places to travel.It was boundless love for adventure and wild places that led Chenda after graduation to embark his career in tourism. Chenda and his expert Team can connect you to Bhutan in the best way.

Chencho Nidup

Chencho Nidup was born with trekking in his blood in the isolated nomadic village of Damchena in Paro. He was trained and certified by the Tourism Council of Bhutan in 2006 and since then he has been leading groups on various treks. There are hardly any treks, which he has not conquered. Chencho made history in 2011 when he led a team of Indian women headed by Ms. Bachendri Pal, the first Indian woman who scaled Mount Everest, to the epic 24-day Snowman Trek in Bhutan. When not on trekking, Chencho would be seen playing a traditional archery game during his free time and helping his wife in farm work when not leading groups.

Nima Wangdi

Nima Wangdicomes from Eastern Bhutan, studied his early education in his hometown and later went to College in India for his degree in commerce. Although initially trained as a cultural and trekking guide, he developed immense interest in becoming Natureguide such as Botanical and bird watching. It was lucky that on one of his trips he met a birding enthusiast and this ignited on him the love for birding. He has been involved in bird related works ever since. He is now well known in birding circles for his great birding guiding skills.

Dorji Gyeltshen

Dorji Gyeltshen – nicknamed ‘Small, compact and effecient’ – because of his small size, compact knowlwdge and professional guiding skill, is from Paro and has been with the company since 2008. Dorji isspecialized in Cultural and Trekking tour.Dorji is friendly, approachable and competent guide. Clients enjoy his sense of humour and his entertaining skills and adorable nature.

Lama Chencho

Lama Chencho has an inherent potential to be a tour leader as his father was a great Horseman involved in trekking activities for a long time. His own brother is also a Tour leader. He has sweet temperaments and gets along with people of all backgrounds. He has deep knowledge in Buddhism and can lead a Buddhist group. These personal traits coupled with sound knowledge on Bhutan makes him an efficient guide. If need be, he can entertain you with English and Bhutanese local songs while on tour. His friends call him “Jaga Lama, meaning Indian Man” because of his long hair and tall height.

Nima Chencho

Nima Chencho has a degree in science and tourism management. He has travelled extensively across Bhutan as tour guide. His passion for mountain has led him to be a trekking guide. He strives to continuously bring the best experience to our guests in Bhutan.Mr. Nima’s sincerity, Honesty and above all the deep knowledge in telling great legendary folk stories has earned him good reputation in tourism industry in Bhutan.

Tshering Wangda

Tshering is a passionate tour organizer and has good connections with Hotels, Tour guides, Trekking crews, Airlines, and local services providers. He loves trekking and is eager to start his own travel agent later. Tshering organizes and ensures all trip logistics working directly with the local guides to ensure everyone's trip goes off without a hitch. He previously has over 7 years of experience in the travel industry having worked in other leading travel companies before joining Lonely Bhutan Tours and Trek.

Tshering Denkar

Tshering Denkar is the accounts manager of Lonely Bhutan Tours and Trek. She has come from a marketing background with 7 years of experience before joining us. As an accounts manager her work entails clearing of bills, preparation of pro-forma invoice, filling government taxes and submission of financial reports and analysis. Born and raised in Dagana, central Bhutan, she now stays in Paro due to her work.

Kinley Tenzin Dorji

Kinley TenzinDorji has a bachelor degree in English from Royal University of Bhutan and joined Lonely BhutanTours & Trek as the reservation officer.In assimilating his job, he is truly friendly and soft-spoken, a trait which gives an edge over other competitors in securing swift confirmation for the reservations. Kinley was initially employed as a temporary staff member but later fell in love with the work and decided to stay on.

Dawa Yeezer Dorji

After obtainingdiploma in IT and studying tourism management and marketingfrom Tourism Institute in Bhutan, Dawa yeezerjoined Lonely Bhutan as marketing head. Apart from marketing job Dawa also takes care of company’s website design and development. He takes care of every small detail because he knows how a little thing can make a big difference. For Dawa, the satisfaction comes from seeing clients enjoying their trip in Bhutan.

Dorji Norbu

Mr. Dorji Norbu, a health worker in Thimphu has worked with Lonely BhutanTours as health assistant. He has accompanied several trekking and hiking groups and has rendered valuable health and medical services to our clients. He has now moved to Australia for his work and is now acting as our overseas partner in Australia.He is a reliable reference and information personal contact for Lonely Bhutan Tours in Austrellia.

Chencho Dem

After her studies, Chencho Dem received comprehensive training from several international Hospitality industries, and has gained experience by working in hotels and resorts.She is a soft spoken and attentive lady who makes sure that all the tour reservationsare done without a glitch. Chencho always tries to obtain the best hotel reservations and quickest confirmation of Druk Air flight seats for the guests. Chencho will be soon moving to USA as she got selected in DV lottery for Green card to live and work in USA. She has agreed to remain as our overseas partner and continue to serve Lonely Bhutan Tours in the capacity of reliable reference and information center in USA.

Our own Trekking Horse and Horse Man
