Daywise Itinerary

Our representative will receive you at the airport.

After some relaxation in Paro town visit to Ta dzong (The national museum of Bhutan). This unique building is conch shaped and the wall is 2.5 m thick. Then visit Rinpung dzong built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. It is the finest illustration of Bhutanese architecture and craftsmanship you’ll see. So impressive it is that even scenes of 1995 film, Little Buddha were filmed here.

Later in the afternoon drive to Thimphu. On the way take a short stop to view Tamchog monastery built in the 15th century by Thang Tong Gyalpo.

In the evening, free to stroll in the town for shopping and photography.

In the morning, visit postal museum where you can print your pictures on the official Bhutanese stamps.Then, visit the textile museum and the school of 13 arts and crafts.

Lunch at Simply Bhutan where you can enjoy typical Bhutanese dishes, local wine and folk dances.

Afternoon – visit tallest statue of Buddha (169 feet), memorial chorten and craft bazaar.

In the evening, visit Tashichho dzong which houses the throne room and offices of His Majesty the King.

Then free to stroll in the town.

After breakfast, drive to Punakha. On the way, visit the beautiful Dochu La pass (Altitude 3140 m).

Then hike to Chimi lhakhang, one of the highlights of honeymoon in Bhutan. Of all the religious figures of Bhutan, perhaps no one is as popular as Drukpa Kuenley. Chimi lhakhang popularly called the”temple of fertility” was built in his honor. He is also known as the divine madman for his unorthodox and outrages ways of teaching Buddhism.

In the morning hike to the beautiful KhamsungYulley monastery built by Her Majesty the Queen Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck.

Afternoon visit Punakha dzong built in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. It is believed that Shabdrung asked ZowoPalep, the architect to sleep at Dzongchu (near the dzong). It was from here that he was taken to paradise in his dream and showed the design of the dzong. In keeping with the tradition, not a single nail was used for the construction of this dzong.

Later walk across the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan (160 m) across Pho chu river. You can enjoy great views of Punakha valley and the dzong below.

In The Morning, Drive to Gangtey and Phobjikha Valley.  This Valley Is the Roosting Ground for The Rare Black Necked Cranes in Winter. On the way, view WangduePhodrang dzong built in 1638 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. This dzong was destroyed by fire in 2012 and was immediately restored to its glory in 2022.

Visit Gangtey Gompa monastery built in 1613 by Tenzin LegpaiDhendup.  It is considered to be the largest Nyingmapa school in western Bhutan. Later do the Gangtey nature trail hike, a good way to explore the valley. In the evening visit the crane information center.

In the morning, drive to Bumthang, considered the “Switzerland of Bhutan”. This valley is the spiritual and cultural heartland of Bhutan.

On the way you will visit Trongsa dzong, the largest fortress in Bhutan built in 1543 by Nagi Wangchuk. The first two kings of Bhutan ruled the country from this ancient seat. The ancient rulers of Bhutan controlled the trade between eastern and western Bhutan from here.

Then visit Ta dzong, an ancient watch tower which is now converted to the royal heritage museum.

Continue your drive to Bumthang crossing Yotong la pass entering Chumi valley and then finally to Chamkhar valley the center of Bumthang.

In the morning, visit to Tamshinglhakhang, Kurjey monastery,Kenchosum monastery and the Jakar dzong (The castle of white bird).

In the afternoon, drive to the “burning lake”. Then visit Jambaylhakhang built in the year 659 AD by King SrongtsenGampo of Tibet. In winter, a spectacular festival is held here to honor Guru Rinpoche and the highlight in the “naked dance”.

Finally, visit Chakharlhakhang, the palace of Sindhu Raja built in the 8th century. It was on the invitation of Sindhu Raja that Guru Rinpoche came to Bhutan in the 8th century.

In the morning, drive to the airport and fly to Paro.

Your guide will receive you at the airport and drive to the hotel.

In the afternoon, day tour to the scenic Cheli la pass (3988 m) with great views. The pass boasts of the highest motorable road in Bhutan and divides Paro and Haa valley. You can also hike to the sky burial site and enjoy the view of the mountains including Mt. Jomolhari.

On the way back, visit to Kila Gompa nunnery perched on a cliff at 3500 m. This nunnery houses around 70 – 80 nuns and is a retreat center.

In The Morning, Drive to Satsam Chorten and Hike Up to The Paro Taktsang Monastery Which Is Give-Or-Take A Two-Hour Ascent. One Of the Best Highlights of Honeymoon Tour In Bhutan.

Afternoon – visit to Kichu monastery built in 659 AD by the Tibetan king, SrongtsenGampo. Then visit Drugyal dzong built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

After breakfast, drive to the airport and farewell (End of Bhutan honeymoon tour itinerary).
